Minecraft Dungeons II Deluxe and DLC

Deluxe is the $49.99 SKU. It is not a different campaign on September 29. It is Standard plus cosmetics plus a voucher for DLC 1 and DLC 2 when those packs ship. This page exists because store tiles collapse that sentence into a golden banner, and because the first Minecraft Dungeons trained people to be suspicious of paid add-ons.

What Deluxe includes on the box

From Xbox Wire, Microsoft Store, and Steam copy:

• The base Minecraft Dungeons II campaign
• Soul cape
• Blub pet companion
• Four hero skins
• DLC 1 and DLC 2, “available as released”
• Pre-order cosmetics on top if you buy before the cutoff (Twisted cape, Twisted Chicken, two extra skins)

If you already subscribe to Game Pass, you own the campaign on day one without Deluxe. You do not own Blub, the Soul cape, the four skins, or the future packs. That is the upsell. It is legal. It is also optional.

What “available as released” means

It means Deluxe is a pre-purchase of two unscheduled adventures. No public date, no public biome list, no public boss. Anyone ranking “DLC 1 weapons” today is inventing them. This wiki will add those pages when Mojang names the packs, not before.

Historically, Dungeons 1 sold island-hopping DLC (Jungle Awakens, Creeping Winter, Howling Peaks, and friends) until support ended in 2023. Community memory of that treadmill is mixed: more maps were good, paying twice a year was not. Deluxe II’s two-pack bundle is Mojang’s attempt to put a lid on that anxiety. Two is a number. A live season pass is an open mouth. Watch which one they actually ship.

Cosmetics versus power

Nothing in the Deluxe bullet list is a damage stat. Capes, pets, skins. If Blub or the Twisted Chicken occupy a talisman slot and fight, they will be evaluated on the armor and talismans page like any other pet. If they are follow-only cosmetics, they are screenshots. Do not pay twenty extra dollars for a hidden 12% damage aura that has not been shown.

Hero skins also do not change controls or how to play. Equip the one your couch can see. The Copper Monstrosity does not care.

Should you wait?

Wait if you are on Game Pass and you only want the September 29 campaign. Play a week. If the systems stick, buy Deluxe for the DLC voucher or buy the packs separately later — we do not yet know whether separate pack SKUs will cost more than the twenty-dollar gap.

Do not wait if you know you buy every Minecraft Dungeons island. Twenty dollars for two labelled packs is the hedge. Do not wait if the Soul cape is the whole personality of your hero. Fashion is a real reason. Pretending it is DPS is not.

How this page will change

When DLC 1 is named, this page will link a guide hub for that pack: maps, bosses, whether it needs a new Enchantsmith currency. Same for DLC 2. Until those names exist, the only honest Deluxe guide is a receipt explainer.

If you already paid, go back to Getting Started. The smiths in Brave Haven do not check your SKU. The rifts to The Sift do not check your SKU. Deluxe is a hat. The game is the jump button. Tell couch partners the same thing before they open the Microsoft Store: the campaign is shared, the chicken is not a damage stat, and DLC 1 will get its own guide the day it has a name.
