Minecraft Dungeons II Enchantments Tier List
Demo-era book ranks from gamescom, not a fake launch ladder.
Minecraft Dungeons I locked enchantments onto the gear that rolled them. Minecraft Dungeons II turns that into a library. You find Enchant Books in the world, they join a personal collection, and the Enchantsmith in Brave Haven stamps a book onto any gear slot you choose — weapon, armor piece, or artifact. Xbox Wire’s gamescom 2026 hands-on is the source for the vendor loop. Minecraft.net’s August 31 gameplay-systems article is the source for the library. This page ranks the verbs those previews showed. It does not invent launch names, drop rates, or a 40-row “final” list.
Until September 29, 2026, treat every label below as a demo description. “Arrows on dodge roll” is how a journalist described a menu option, not a confirmed in-game string. If launch copy uses a prettier name, the verb is still the rank.
How books actually work
Three systems get mashed into the word “enchant.” Keep them apart or you will spend Soul Corrupted currency on the wrong screen.
- Random item effects roll on loot. The Blacksmith can reroll a built-in buff when the model is right and the prefix is wrong. That is not this page.
- Talisman passives sit in three dedicated slots and level with use. Rank those on the talismans list.
- Enchant Books are the library. Find them on the road and in dungeons, bring them home, pay the Enchantsmith with currency dropped by Soul Corrupted enemies, stamp the book on a slot. A gamescom developer clip said you can apply those books as many times as you like to whatever gear you like. Leveling a stamped book is not in the official systems article — do not confuse it with talismans, which hands-on coverage says grow with use.
The full vendor walkthrough is Blacksmith and Enchantsmith. The inventory map that shows where a book lands is inventory and gear. This list answers only: which book deserves the essence.
Soul Corrupted enemies are the blue-glowing mobs on the Overworld and in The Sift. Skipping them to “save time” is how you arrive at the smith with a great book and an empty wallet.
S-tier: books that rewrite a loadout
These are the three verbs Joe Skrebels spotted on one Enchantsmith list at gamescom. If you find one, it goes on the loadout immediately. The labels below are journalist descriptions, not confirmed in-game names.
Arrows on dodge roll is the most-watched enchant in the preview footage. Every evasion fires a volley from your equipped ranged weapon. On a charged bow, you dodge into position and clear a room without stopping to aim. On a Trickbow, bounce shots hit groups automatically. The enchant scales with the bow, so a better ranged tile makes the dodge into a higher spike. This book defines the mobility-ranged archetype Mojang staff kept showing.
Fire on arrows applies a burning status to every shot. Burning ticks after the hit and marks a pack that is crowding a doorway. It stacks with arrows-on-dodge so every roll lights targets. Against the Copper Monstrosity, the value is the ticks you get while you walk off a lightning trace.
Increased dodge roll frequency is a quality-of-life stamp that becomes damage once arrows-on-dodge exists. More dodges means more volleys, more iframe windows, and more repositioning off copper dashes and Warden booms. It justifies a lighter armor mix that relies on evasion over tanking.
Area damage on roll extends the dodge into a blast at your feet. Where arrows-on-dodge fires projectiles, this book adds a physical shockwave. In corridors and arena rooms, one well-timed dodge clears a melee clump without line of sight. It works on melee and ranged as a supporting burst tool.
A-tier: strong books that fit a job
These do not define a build alone, but they are powerful in the fights already shown.
Elemental arrows (fire or ice). Fire is pack burn. Ice, if the launch tooltip matches the preview chatter, buys freeze windows against fast melee. Pick the tag for the dungeon, not for a screenshot.
Weapon damage stamps. Straightforward power on the item they sit on. Reliable. Boring. Correct when you already have a mobility book and just need the number to keep up with Rainy Plains ambushes.
Armor protection stamps. Absorb incoming hits and cut burst. Not flashy. The Copper Monstrosity and Twisted Warden both delete health bars in seconds if you greed. A protection book on the chest or legs is the unfashionable slot that keeps a pet build alive.
B-tier: useful, not a personality
Minor movement speed on boots, a small attack-speed bump on a melee tile, a slight artifact cooldown trim. These make existing gear slightly better and do not open a new play pattern. Apply them when no S or A book is waiting, or compare the marginal value in the loadout planner before you spend essence you wanted for a dodge book.
C-tier: boss-only or highly situational
A stamp that only helps against stationary targets is a Warden-phase tool and dead weight on the Overworld road. A reduction that only cares about one enemy type is a dungeon-composition pick. Do not spend Soul Corrupted essence here unless you know tonight’s pin. Park the book in the library. Libraries are free. Bad stamps are not.
The combo the demo kept showing
Xbox Wire described a three-piece loop in a single menu: extra dodge frequency, arrows on every dodge, fire on those arrows. Add a regeneration effect from armor, a talisman, or an artifact and you have the public chase build. Dodge through a crowd, arrows fire and burn, ticks continue while you close for the next roll. Constant forward momentum. That is the aggressive cadence How to Play is talking about, expressed as three books instead of a pep talk.
If you find one of those three books, spend currency to stamp it on the slot that actually dodges or actually shoots. If you find all three, you have the skeleton of a loadout that handles the shown content. Pair it with a charged bow from the weapons list and a sentence from starter builds so the library is serving a kit, not a screenshot.
How to spend without griefing yourself
- Do not stamp a library book onto a grey sword you will vendor after the next cart ride.
- Power-cap the piece at the Blacksmith before you treat it as a forever slot.
- Read the flattened Effects and Enchantments list after every stamp so you can see whether two books are saying the same verb.
- Save enough Soul Corrupted currency to stamp the book you actually like onto a Blacksmith-capped favourite, not onto grey filler. A fresh S-tier verb on a throwaway sword is still a wasted library.
- If two party members find the same book, that is not a bug. Books are a library. The bottleneck is the currency and the decision.
After launch, this page will replace adjectives with numbers. Until then, every rank is labelled as demo-based on purpose. If another wiki is already shipping a complete “best 50 enchants” chart, they are guessing with better CSS. Come back to the tier list hub when you want the method, and to the Enchantsmith guide when you want the button prompts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How do I apply enchantments in Minecraft Dungeons II?
Find Enchant Books during runs, then visit the Enchantsmith in Brave Haven. Spend Soul Corrupted currency to stamp a book onto a weapon, armor piece, or artifact. Full vendor steps: Blacksmith and Enchantsmith.
What is the best enchantment shown in demos?
Arrows on dodge roll is the one preview footage leaned on. It turns every evasion into a ranged volley and defines the mobility build.
Can I upgrade enchantments after applying them?
Official systems copy describes a personal library and stamping any gear slot. Talismans are the items preview coverage says level with use. Confirm the Enchantsmith UI on launch day — see Blacksmith and Enchantsmith.
Do books work on armor and artifacts?
Yes. Official systems copy says a book can go on any gear slot you choose, unlike the 2020 game's locked rolls.
How do I get Soul Corrupted currency?
Soul Corrupted enemies drop it. They appear on the Overworld road and in The Sift. Do not skip the glow.
