Minecraft Dungeons II How to Beat the Twisted Warden
The Showcase boss: a supersized Warden in a cave delve built for jump and pets.
The Twisted Warden is the June 2026 Xbox Games Showcase exam, the way the Copper Monstrosity is the gamescom exam. Will Fulton’s Xbox Wire hands-on describes a cave spiral packed with slimes, skeletons, spiders, and illagers, then a boss that is a supersized, extra-powerful take on Minecraft’s Warden. Official key art and trailers keep putting that silhouette behind the heroes. This page is the how-to-beat plan from that demo, not a fake lockout timer wiki.
What we actually know
- The fight caps a Deep Dark / cave delve, not a sunny plains tower.
- Lighting is part of the spectacle: torchlight and sculk glow after a sunlit Overworld. Bring a brain for contrast, not just DPS.
- The Warden kit in Minecraft is sonic booms and darkness. Coverage of the sequel fight calls out area attacks alongside sonic-boom-style abilities. Play like the floor and the air both hate you.
- An excavator-style enemy appears in some stills beside the Warden. If that minion is in the launch fight, kill it between booms so you are not boxed in.
- Jump exists now. Use it to clear residual sculk hazards and to stay off collapsed floors — the same demo had a cave floor drop a pet into the void.
If a later preview publishes a phase chart, this page will add it. Until then, treat every boom as a “stop attacking” alarm, the same way copper lightning is a stop-attacking alarm on the other boss.
Loadout for a dark arena
The Showcase demo’s favourite toy was a bone talisman that summoned a dog. The dog attacked, tanked, died, and respawned. Pair that with a weapon enchant that spawned regen spots on kills and you have the only public Warden-adjacent build we have: a minion that soaks a boom while you drink the floor.
Translate that into launch items:
- A talisman pet if one drops. The Warden wants a second body.
- A melee weapon you can swing after a dodge, not only a sniper bow. Caves are tight.
- At least one artifact that hits a cone or a circle, because sonic fights punish single-target tunnel vision.
- Regen, lifesteal, or potion efficiency. Darkness hides the moment you should have healed.
Upgrade that pile at the Blacksmith in Brave Haven before you take the minecart toward Howling Woods or any Deep Dark marker. Power level still gates these fights.
How to beat it
The hallway is the first boss. The cave spiral is a resource tax. If you arrive at the Warden with empty potions and artifacts on cooldown, you already lost. Clear packs with the How to Play cadence: ranged, melee, artifacts, dodge. Do not save cooldowns for a cinematic that will also demand them.
Boom windows. When the Twisted Warden winds a sonic-style attack, stop greed. Dodge, jump, or hide behind a pillar if the arena offers one. After the boom, dump everything. Short cooldowns mean you can treat the post-boom like a mini burst phase every time.
Pets and floors. If the floor collapses, jump. The demo’s dog did not. You can. Recast or wait the pet timer; do not chase it into the void.
Sound and darkness. In Minecraft proper, the Warden is a sound hunter. Even if the sequel version is a more traditional ARPG boss, assume noisy spam (bombs, ravager chaos, four people rolling) will make the arena harder to read. One player in a co-op group should call booms. Three people narrating their loot is how you eat a scream.
Excavator or adds. If a helper mob shows up, swap to it between telegraphs. Adds in a Warden pit exist to steal your dodge, not to be ignored.
How this fight differs from the Copper Monstrosity
Copper is a bright arena with floor lightning and dashes you can see from across the tilework. The Twisted Warden is a dark pit with area denial and a silhouette that fills the key art. Copper wants kiting. Warden wants burst-after-boom and a pet. You can wear the same hero. You should not wear the same brain. Read both pages before a launch-week boss rush.
The video in the middle of this article is a trailer breakdown that spends time on Sift frames and Warden-adjacent spectacle. Use it for visual memory, then come back to the habits above. Spectacle is not a strategy.
After the scream
Return to Brave Haven. Sculk-themed loot and soul-adjacent talismans should hit the Effects and Enchantments list before you vendor them. If the drop is a looker with a bad buff, reroll the buff; that is the sequel’s entire loot thesis.
Then either push toward The Sift or toward the copper tower. The wiki’s job is to keep those two fights from blurring into one “big guy” guide. They are not the same guy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Is the Twisted Warden in The Sift?
The public hands-on placed it at the end of a Deep Dark cave delve in the Overworld, not inside a rift. The Sift is a separate destination.
What build did the Showcase demo use?
A pet talisman (a summonable dog) plus a weapon enchant that created regen spots on kills. Copy the verbs: extra body, extra sustain.
Should I save artifacts for the Twisted Warden?
No. The cave before the boss is a tax. Enter with potions full, but do not skip artifacts on the way down or you will be worse at the packs and the boom windows.
Is this harder than the Copper Monstrosity?
They test different reads. Copper is dashes and lightning. Warden is darkness and area screams. Learn both from their own guides instead of one generic boss page.
