Brave Haven, the Minecraft Dungeons II Hub

Vendors, minecarts, and the town you return to after every rift and tower.

Brave Haven Hub Town

Brave Haven is the sequel’s town. Xbox Wire’s gamescom diary starts there: a bucolic coastal hub, two smiths, passive mobs, and a minecart that throws you at a boss. Official stills show docks, banners, and the kind of NPC clutter the 2020 mission select screen never had. This page is the how-to-use-town guide — where to stand, what to click, and why you should stop treating the hub as a loading screen.

Why the sequel has a town at all

Minecraft Dungeons 1 was a list of missions. Minecraft Dungeons II is a connected Overworld with dungeons dotted on it. Brave Haven is the safe node on that map. You kit here, you fast-travel from here, you come back here when a unique drops in Rainy Plains or The Sift. If you skip town, you skip the Blacksmith, and then you complain that loot is linear. The game is not linear. You are skipping the edit button.

Walk the square on your first visit. Note the two named vendors, the minecart stop, and any merchants the launch build adds. Trailer breakdowns mention a merchant presence in Sift footage as well; town is still home base even if a rift has a stall.

The two smiths

They are the reason the hub exists.

  • Blacksmith — raise any owned item to your current power cap for a fee. Reroll a built-in buff when the look is right and the stat is wrong. This is how a favourite sword survives the sequel.
  • Enchantsmith — spend Enchant Books plus currency dropped by Soul Corrupted enemies to add new effects. Dodge-more, arrows-on-dodge, fire-on-arrows: those combos start here, not in a skill tree.

The long version lives on Blacksmith and Enchantsmith. The short version: never vendor in a dungeon what you have not shown to both smiths.

Minecarts and the Overworld

Fast travel is a minecart to the nearest stop, not a teleport that deletes the game. Gamescom coverage is specific: you still fight dozens of mobs between the station and the Copper Monstrosity tower. Use carts to skip the boring coast, then play the interesting road.

Confirmed or strongly shown destinations from 2026 media:

  • Rainy Plains — gamescom dungeon route, copper tower at the end.
  • Howling Woods — combat stills, sculk-touched village Little Howl Hamlet.
  • Honeycomb Fields — concept art of illager ruins.
  • Squid Coast — Twisted Warden art in some promotional pieces.
  • Deep Dark entrance — Showcase cave delve.
  • The Sift — via Overworld rifts, not a minecart colour.

That is not a complete atlas. It is enough to stop people searching “Minecraft Dungeons II map” and finding a blank. When the launch cartographer is public, this list will grow. Until then, open the in-game map the way the HUD already nags you to: “Open the Map to find adventures.”

What to do in town between runs

  1. Dump junk. Keep anything with a verb you like (pets, regen, dodge, bombs).
  2. Blacksmith the verb items to cap.
  3. Open Effects and Enchantments and read the flattened list. If two items do the same thing, vendor the uglier one.
  4. Enchantsmith only the weapon you will still be holding tomorrow.
  5. Form the co-op party here so everyone sees the same vendors.
  6. Take the cart.

If you are about to log off, log off in Brave Haven. Hub inventories are where you make the loadout planner real. Hallway inventories are where you misclick a legendary into a stack of arrows.

Town as a teaching tool

Brave Haven is also where you should learn controls. Jump off a dock. Roll across a square. Hold inventory while a friend holds inventory. If a bind is wrong, it is wrong in safety, not in a copper dash. New players should finish Getting Started in this town before they ask why The Sift killed them.

Passive mobs exist on purpose. The sequel wants the hub to feel like a Minecraft village that learned it is in an ARPG. Do not attack the chickens unless the launch build dares you to. Do pet the ones that look like Deluxe Blub if you paid for Deluxe. Cosmetics are the point of some SKUs; town is where you see them.

When to leave town

Leave when your power level matches the next map skull, your potions are full, and your artifacts are off cooldown. Stay when a friend is still rerolling a buff. The hub is a multiplayer space. The dungeon is a multiplayer space. Only one of them has lightning on the floor. Be kind in the one without lightning.

For the road itself, keep How to Play open. For the copper tower at the end of one particular road, keep Copper Monstrosity open. Brave Haven is the bookmark you return to between those tabs.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is Brave Haven in The Sift?

No. It is the Overworld coastal hub. Rifts to The Sift are found out in the world, then you come home to town with the loot.

What vendors are in Brave Haven?

The Blacksmith and the Enchantsmith are the two named smiths from gamescom. Expect additional merchants in the launch build.

Does fast travel skip combat?

No. Minecarts move you to a nearby stop. You still fight the road to the dungeon or boss.

Should I sell items in a dungeon?

Bring uniques back to Brave Haven first. Power upgrades and enchantments only happen in town.
