Minecraft Dungeons II Armor and Talisman Tier List

Four armor tiles and three talismans — the sequel's real build screen.

Armor and Talismans

Minecraft Dungeons 1 gave you one armor piece and called it a day. Minecraft Dungeons II gives you four armor tiles and three talisman tiles. That is the sequel’s class system wearing a different hat. This page ranks the slots and the few named items we can see, then tells you which verbs to chase before launch numbers exist.

Look at the gamescom inventory screenshot if you want the diagram: four armor icons with power numbers (27, 21, 28, 26), three artifacts, three talismans, and a tooltip for Twisted Tooth — “Increases souls gained by 40%.” That tooltip is doing more work than most fake tier lists.

Armor — rank the set, not the fashion

Until individual set names are public, rank armor by job:

  • S — mixed power, no holes. Four pieces near your cap. A 27/21/28/26 grid is already a lesson: the 21 is the piece you Blacksmith first. One low tile is a leaked health bar.
  • A — verb armor. Pieces that add dodge, potion, or thorns-style effects even if they are a point behind. The Blacksmith can fix the point. It cannot invent a verb you vendored.
  • B — matching skins with empty stats. Wear them in Brave Haven. Swap before Copper Monstrosity.
  • C — under-cap filler. Fine for the first minecart. Not fine for a Warden pit.

There is no public “best helmet.” Anyone posting one before September 29 is guessing at pixels. Cap the lowest tile, then chase verbs.

Talismans — the actual S-row

Talismans are passives. Three slots. They are how a hangout ARPG grows teeth.

Pet talismans — S. The Showcase bone-that-summons-a-dog is the only full hands-on we have. The pet damaged, tanked, died, respawned, and once fell through a collapsing floor. That is an extra life with an AI. If launch drops a wolf, a chicken fighter, or Deluxe’s Blub as a combat pet, slot it for Twisted Warden and for new players in co-op.

Souls-gain talismans — S if you craft. Twisted Tooth’s +40% souls is Enchantsmith fuel. If you are stamping dodge-arrow-fire books, this talisman is a hidden weapon. If you never visit the Enchantsmith, it is a vanity percentage.

Regen / on-kill sustain — S with pets. The Showcase chained regen spots on kills into pet uptime. That synergy is the most interesting build sentence of 2026’s preview cycle. Keep any talisman or armor that feeds it.

Jump / movement passives — A for The Sift. Trailer analysis mentioned jump-speed style passives. Slot them when rifts open. Leave them in the stash for copper towers where the floor is already trying to kill you and extra jump is a way to dash into lightning.

Raw damage pills — B until numbers. A +X% melee talisman is easy to overrate. The sequel’s demos keep rewarding extra actions (pets, rolls, bombs), not extra percents. Rank actions first.

Artifacts, briefly, because they sit on the same screen

Artifacts are not talismans. They are the three active buttons. Gamescom’s Copper fight wanted bombs and self-buffs on short cooldowns. Rank artifacts the same way: extra action beats extra number. A bomb you press every pack is S. A once-a-minute ultimate you forget exists is C. The How to Play page is the rotation; this page is the slotting.

Slotting order on launch night

  1. Fill empty armor tiles, even with junk, so you are not naked.
  2. Blacksmith the lowest power tile.
  3. Slot a pet if you have one.
  4. Slot souls-gain if you plan to Enchantsmith tonight.
  5. Slot regen or movement based on the next destination (Warden vs Sift vs copper).
  6. Only then look at weapons and worry about whether your hammer is A or B.

Deluxe pets and pre-order chickens are cosmetics unless the launch build says they fight. Equip them for the screenshot, then check whether they occupy a talisman slot. If they do, they have to earn the slot against Twisted Tooth and the dog.

When new named sets appear in Updates, they will land on this page as rows, not as a rewrite of the slot logic. Four tiles. Three passives. Cap the holes. Keep the verbs.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How many armor pieces are there in Minecraft Dungeons II?

Four, plus three talisman slots and three artifact slots. That split is new compared with the 2020 game.

What is the best talisman?

From public demos: a pet for bosses and new players, and a souls-gain piece such as Twisted Tooth if you use the Enchantsmith.

Do pre-order pets use a talisman slot?

Treat them as cosmetics until the launch build shows otherwise. If they occupy a slot, they must beat a combat pet or Twisted Tooth on merit.

Should I match armor sets?

Match verbs and power first. Fashion is what the Blacksmith is for — cap the piece you like, then worry about dyes.
